Overview
The Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR or Industry 4.0) conceptualizes the digitization of the manufacturing sector and rapid changes to societal patterns, bridges the digital and physical worlds, and makes smart systems possible in the 21st century, largely driven by the rise of data, interconnectivity, advanced analytics, advanced technology and smart automation. It is built on nine technology pillars - Big Data Analytics, Autonomous Robots, Simulation, Horizontal & Vertical System Integration, Internet of Things, Cloud Computing, Additive Manufacturing, Augmented Reality, and Cyber Security. We are in hope that the upcoming conference on “The Role of Science and Technology towards 4IR” will create an opportunity for science and technology based scholars and practitioners to exchange their insights and skills on the key aspects of the 4IR. We cordially invite you to attend the conference. We anticipate that your participation will greatly contribute to the Faculty of Science’s mission to advance science and technology in this country.
Conference Objectives
The main objectives of the conference are to
>> enhance awareness of the policy tools and strategies to promote innovations and utilization of the 4IR technologies for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
>> share knowledge among participants on the applications of science and technology in different sectors including healthcare, climate change, sustainable production, and resilient recovery of industries.
>> recommend policies to facilitate and transfer the 4IR technologies to support the achievement of the SDGs.
